The 20 Factor Advice

Post panda update (February 2011), it’s established that Google is giving great emphasis to 20 factors.

These factors have been devised using a reverse methodology on over 2000 high ranking sites from each niche area of 30 different niche groups.

Implementation of the 20 factors on test websites has yielded outstanding results even for very competitive keywords.

Below is an example of 2 factors:

  1.   Are you using 4 closely matched keywords per optimised page? Just competing for only 1 keyword per optimised page gives the impression that you are targeting austerely for a specific keyword, this looks unnatural. Having too many keywords per optimised page, is also not a good idea. Use 4 closely matched keywords, starting with your target keyword first. For example; if on a page you are competing for the keyword 'leather purse' then you should include in your keywords, as an example; Leather purse, ladies purses, black leather purses, red leather purses.

  2. The code needs to be SEO friendly, this will need to be checked by us).  Minor mistakes in the code could confuse search engines, for example 97% of the websites we checked, the h1 header tag was not SEO friendly.  Usually web editing software automatically integrates font and text information within the tag.  For example the proper format should be for your header tag: <h1>SEO Advice</h1>  however the majority of web editing software's out there automatically write the font information within i.e. <h1><font size="3">SEO Advice</font></h1> This can be easily corrected by yourself or by your webmaster.  The h1 tag is the most important tag on your site, which contains the primary keyword that your competing for.  If search engines are not able to read your header tag clearly, then they wont be able to pick up that vital information.

There are 18 other very important SEO factors.  However we need to analyse your site and also look at your competition before we send out our advice to you.

We will send you the detailed 20 factor advice that’s catered specifically to your website.

The SEO Advice will be easy to read, easy to follow, sent to you by email.  You can then forward it to your webmaster or whoever manages your website.
